Movie Recommendations
As a public service I’m offering some movie recommendations. These aren’t necessarily my all-time favorites, but a few I really liked that you many not have seen.
Once • Y Tu Mamá También • Hear My Song • Sweet Land • Hamlet 2 • Persepolis • The Adventures of Baron Munchausen • Flushed Away • Hedwig and the Angry Inch • Everything by Cohen Brothers • Sita Sings The Blues • Unconscious (Inconscientes) • After the Wedding (Efter brylluppet) • Not One Less (Yi Ge Dou Bu Neng Shao) • In Bruges • The Children of Heaven (Bacheha-Ye Aseman) • Stolen Kisses (Baisers Volés) • Breaking and Entering • Youth Without Youth • Under the Same Moon (La misma luna) • Eastern Promises • The Station Agent • 12:08 East of Bucharest (A fost sau n-a fost?) • 10 Items or Less • The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief • December Boys • Primer • The King of Kong • Helvetica • L’iceberg • Fantastic Planet (La planète sauvage) • Feast of Love Filmed in PDX. See how many locations you recognize. • Word Wars** • Wordplay**
**These two films are documentaries about players of competitive Scrabble (Word Wars) and crossword puzzles (Wordplay). I highly recommend watching these two movies consecutively. Together they give a fascinating glimpse into the minds and personalities of people who are good at these games. FWIW, I’m much better at crossword puzzles than Scrabble.

Patsy Grimaldi’s, Brooklyn NY & Scottsdale, AZ (Pizza) Crazy delicious!
Wild Ginger Seattle WA (Pan-Asian) The secret is knowing what to order. I used to go to WG when it was a tiny little place on Puget Sound (now a huge restaurant downtown). They still serve some of the great original meals for the “old timers”, but they aren’t on the menu.
Angelo’s of Mulberry Street, Little Italy, NY (Italian). Incredible food and it’s like walking onto the set of The Sopranos.
Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House, Las Vegas. So good it’ll make you say “BAM!”
Ken’s Artisan Pizza, Portland, OR (Pizza)

Top 5 FAQ’s
Q: Do you have a Frequently Asked Questions section on your site?
A: Yes
Q: How frequently are these questions really asked? When I go to most Web sites with an FAQs section the questions there are never really the questions I want to ask, so I’m thinking that they aren’t questions real people like me ask much, if at all. Am I right, or am I just being cynical?
A: Yes.
Q: What do you mean, “yes?” It was an either/or question. You can’t just say “yes.” You weren’t even listening properly, were you?
A: No.
Q: What would Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols say about you and your little website if he were alive today?
A: Bollocks.
Q: Can I ask another question?
A: No. Goodbye.
Anything Else?
I have the best Pandora stations in the world. One is called “East Side Drug House Jazz-Funk Groove Mix” and it’s absolutely kickin’! The other is Downtown Cocktail Lounge. It’s equally cool, just more chill. Click the link in the right column to check them out.
